Care with boundaries

Hi, I’m Alma

Between knowledge and emotions

I have always lived somewhere between knowledge and emotions. Between wanting to understand things properly and knowing that life, health and being human rarely fit into neat explanations.

My background crosses pharmacy, medical research, neuroscience, anaesthesiology and circadian rhythms, medical writing, health coaching, mental health and addiction.

My approach

I have spent over half of my life working with medical language, medication, research, behaviour change and the nervous system. But knowledge looks very different when you are the person trying to make sense of your own health — and health is rarely just medical. It can bring fear, shame, confusion, anger, grief, hope, and the need to be taken seriously.

That is the place I care about most. I am not here to tell you what to do. I am here to help you slow things down, understand what is happening, prepare better questions, and make the next step feel clearer and more human.

Not perfectly. Not all at once. But honestly, at your own pace, with consent and care.

An ally on the journey

Pain can teach us, but it does not get to define us. What we understand can become knowledge. What we learn can become care. And both can give us more agency over what comes next. Life is not only meant to be survived.

Cultivating presence

A diagnosis, a procedure, or a hard conversation with a doctor can all hold material that is difficult to sit with. When things get hard, what is the quality of presence being cultivated? To stay with ourselves, to remain present with what is, and bring care along. There is so much power in that.
